Sgraffito is the process of scratching of glaze to reveal the clay below. In my Sgraffito plate I first modeled a plate by flattening a piece of clay with a roller and laying the flat piece over a mold of my plate. After that I let the clay dry a little bit so that I could remove the mold and flip over the plate. Once that was done I glazed the top and started scratching off my design with multiple dentist tools. To help me scratch of my design I traced my image and laid it on top of the clay Once that was done I outlined the rest in red and fired it in the kiln. After the first firing I went back and added a clear coat to make it shiny.
